Deaf Women of Achievement
Deaf Women of Achievement--an award to be given to one Deaf or hard of hearing woman who contributed significantly to the Deaf community and Deaf women;
The selection process and benefits for the Deaf Women of Achievement award are as follows:
Nominating criteria :
-
the nominated party must be a Deaf or hard of hearing woman
-
anyone may submit a nomination, no more than two pages (100 words or more) about the nominee, including a complete accomplishment history with educational, employment and volunteer background
-
there is no limit on the number of times a Deaf woman may be nominated
-
the DWU Board will select one recipient prior to each biennial conference
-
announcement of a selected Deaf woman will be made at every DWU conference
Benefits :
Two years of DWU membership, with all the benefits of a regular member-registration fee waived at the next DWU conference, a 8" X 10" engraved plaque for the recipient, paper copy of the plaque for the archives, and to be displayed at the biennial conferences., A 5" X 7" picture with the recipients complete accomplishment history to also be included in archives and to be displayed at the biennial conferences.
